I stumbled upon this quote from Facing the Giants – God will send the rain when He is ready. It’s your job to prepare your field to receive it.
We all keep praying for blessings and breakthroughs but have you prepared your “field”? IMHO, blessings are better enjoyed when we are prepared for it and if we know how to use it. For example, if someone will give an athlete a pair of running shoes, s/he will definitely enjoy it. But if you give running shoes to someone who prefers to stay at home, it will only gather dust.
So while you’re waiting for your “rain”, why won’t you start preparing your field? If you want to have a business, why won’t you start learning how to build one? If you want to invest in the stock market, start reading books on financial literacy. If you want to run marathons, it’s time to start training. Learn, train, and improve yourself.
You do not only have to prepare for the worst, you also have to prepare for the best.
