We all know faith as “believing even if we don’t see it.” But faith goes beyond believing – it is also LIVING in DELIGHT on the promises of God. Because believing and not living what you believe in is basically just knowing. If we had been truly transformed by God’s saving grace, we would delight in living and savoring the beauty of the promises of Christ.
So you ask how can faith produce delight? The answer is in God’s Word:
“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.”
If we remain in Christ we would have joy. That means obeying His Word, believing in Him, and living on His promises won’t feel like a chore because we’re beyond satisfied with God’s presence in our lives.
Lord, thank You for being our constant source of pure joy. I pray for the grace to remain in You so that YOUR joy, and not the world’s standard of happiness, would stay in me. I pray that I take delight in making You smile not out of obligation but because I believe that You are faithful to me and Your promises. Amen.
