Price of Grace

October 31,2015

What if grace comes with a price tag? This would mean people would restlessly work day and night, boast of their bank accounts just to receive it. The truth is no amount of effort and riches can match the value of God’s grace. What would our lives be if God works that way? Well, it’s true that man cannot put a value to God’s grace. The good news here is this — God wants to lavish the richness of His grace on us for FREE.

“[God] raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:6-7)

There are two amazing facts here. One, the purpose of salvation is not just to save us from our sin but also for God to shower His vast grace on us. Second fact is this — since it is immeasurable it will take Him FOREVER to do it. Imagine an eternity of God’s grace. Amazing.

That’s how extravagant the love of God is for us. We are sinful and we don’t deserve any of His goodness. But God, out of His unconditional love for us, choose to lavish the richness of His grace on us. What more can we ask for?
